Falcon women skaters open season with 3-2 OT loss
Ozaukee Ice Center
The 2010-11 season opened with a tough overtime loss for the CUW
women who fell to visiting Bethel 3-2 this afternoon at the Ozaukee
Ice Center.
Bethel's Alison Papko registered the first goal of the season
against Concordia during the first twenty minutes but CUW's
Samantha Meuwissen answered to create a 1-1 tie at the end of two
periods.
All looked rosey when April Forar lit the lamp for the Falcons at
13:59 of the third, but the visitor's Bizz Huss tied things up
before the end of regulation and then Papko's second goal ended the
contest in overtime.
Lea Jondal recorded 29 saves for Jim Ingman's team, but was
victimized by a power play score in the extra session after the
Falcons were penalized for too many players on the ice.
