NCHA Women’s Hockey Preseason Coaches’ Poll

NCHA Women’s Hockey Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Mequon

The addition of two new women's programs - St. Norbert and St. Scholastica - and how they might affect the dynamic is the early headline in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association's Women's Division as the 2010-11 season gets underway.

The Green Knights and the Saints bring the total number of teams to eleven, changing the landscape of a conference already loaded with strong programs.

Last season's second place finisher, Adrian College, advanced to the NCHA semifinals last year, falling to eventual playoff champion UW-River Falls- the team selected as the team to beat this season in the annual preseason coaches' poll. UW-River Falls received nine of the eleven first place votes and easily took the top spot in the rankings.

Jim Ingman's CUW skaters were picked for 8th place in the 11 team conference.
