Women’s Golf Opens Weekend at Whitewater

JANESVILLE, Wis. – The CUW women's golf team opened up the weekend at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Spring Fling on Saturday. The two-day tournament was cut down to one round after rain spoiled the Friday round. The Bears of Washington University of St. Louis won the tournament at 304 strokes. The Bears were 18 strokes ahead of Carthage and Whitewater in second place. The Falcons finished in 16th place at 416 strokes.

Senior Gabrielle Flocco (Castle Pines, Colo.) led the flock in 61st place at 97 strokes.

In 63rd place was sophomore Rebecca Curley (Winthrop Harbor, Ill.) at 98 strokes.

Freshman Elizabeth Montaba (Plymouth, Wis.) finished the day at 100 strokes in 76th place.

Sophomore Kayla Samann (Campbellsport, Wis.) secured a round of 121 strokes in 87th place.

Freshman Kaylee McCarty (Adell, Wis.) rounded out the flock in 88th place at 130 strokes.  

The Falcons resume play on Sunday at the MSOE Triangular.
