Falcons Improve on Second Day at NACC Championships

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The women's golf team dropped two strokes off of their round one scores during their second day of play. 

The Spartans still lead the tournament posting another day below 340 with a 339-stroke day.  They lead the tournament by 51 strokes in front of St. Norbert.

Sophomore Rebecca Curley (Winthrop Harbor, Ill.) led the Falcons for the second day shooting 90 strokes and improving by six strokes from round one.  Elizabeth Montaba, a freshman from Plymouth, Wisconsin, dropped two strokes off of her score shooting 94 strokes after yesterday's 96 strokes.

Senior Gabrielle Flocco (Castle Pines, Colo.) posted a 96-stroke day keeping her in third for the Falcon team.  Fourth place for the Falcons was senior Payton Dorn (Freedom, Wis.) shooting a 112 at the Aldeen Golf Club.

The last two spots on the six-person roster for the Falcons were junior Hannah Conger (Davenport, Iowa) and freshman Kaylee McCarty (Adell, Wis.) posting 121 strokes and 125 strokes respectively.

The Falcons trail Marian by 26 strokes for fourth place.

The Blue and White look to close that gap in the final round of the NACC Championships on Sunday.
