Clouthier joins Women's Basketball as Assistant Coach

AC Clouthier will begin his first season with the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Basketball program as an assistant coach.

"I am truly honored and blessed to be joining Coach Brunner-Jones, the women's basketball program, and the CUW community," said Clouthier. "This is a place that has a great reputation for athletics as well as academics. The atmosphere has been welcoming and the culture is contagious. I am excited for the season to get underway and work with Coach Brunner-Jones and the basketball team. I am hoping I can keep contributing to the already established success of the basketball program."

Clouthier most recently has been an assistant at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, contributing for two seasons. During that time the Tommies went 58-4 with a Final Four and Sweet Sixteen appearance. The two teams developed and produced two All-Americans and the NCAA DIII National Player of the Year.

"We are excited to have AC join our program," said head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones. "His love for the game and his experience at the highest level of DIII put him above any other candidate for the job."

Clouthier was previously the head coach at Xavier High School in Appleton, Wisconsin, compiling a 61-19 record overall (.763). He guided XHS to the WIAA State Tournament twice, qualifying in back-to-back seasons. Clouthier's teams advanced to the WIAA Division III State Championship game in 2015 and played in the DIII State Semi-Finals in 2016.

His team never finished below third place in conference play, going 14-2, 13-3, and 10-4 in each season while overall his teams were 19-5, 24-5, and 18-9. Clouthier coached two first team all-state players and was the 2013-14 Coach of the Year.

Clouthier graduated from Xavier in 2006 and from the University of St. Thomas in 2010 with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Broadcast Journalism. He played and coached football at UST before heading to Xavier. He was on the staff at Xavier as an assistant football coach and the school's Learning Advocate. He also taught Health and Physical Education.
