Women's Basketball Preview: vs. Lakeland in NACC Tournament semifinal

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin and Lakeland will meet for the third time this season on Friday at 5 pm in the NACC Tournament semifinals on the campus of Wisconsin Lutheran.

The Falcons and Muskies engaged in a pair of thrilling overtime battles this season, with Lakeland coming out in front both times -- 77-70 on December 4 and 89-81 on February 2. Concordia Wisconsin enters as the third seed, while Lakeland is the second seed and earned a first-round bye. Concordia Wisconsin defeated MSOE, 57-46, on Tuesday after building a 15-point halftime lead and holding on in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons are the league's best 3-point shooting team with 7.5 made per game at a 38.1 percent clip. They also rank second in points per game (70.1), field goal percentage (41.8), free throws made per game (14.2), free throw percentage (73.9) and fewest turnovers per game (14.1).

Senior Baylee Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) is Concordia Wisconsin's leading scorer at 12.8 points per game, while also dishing out 2.6 assists per contest. In addition, sophomore Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) is making 38.7 percent of her long balls and junior Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) is making 37.3 percent from downtown.

The Muskies are second in the NACC for steals per game (10.3) and third in three other statistical categories. They are led by Miranda Jacobson, who has a triple-double this season and nine double-doubles, while Megan Will leads the NACC in field goals made (163) and has 14 games with three or more blocks.

The winner will move on to the NACC Tournament Championship game on Saturday at 7 pm, facing the victor of the Wisconsin Lutheran (top seed) vs Dominican (fourth seed).
