Falcons drop home opener to Warriors

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's offense stalled and Wisconsin Lutheran earned a 57-33 victory during NACC play on Saturday inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Offense was hard to come back in the first half, as Concordia Wisconsin scored 11 points on 4-of-23 shooting. The hosts continued to battle in the third quarter and scored 13 points, while their defense played at a higher level and held the Warriors to 28.6 percent shooting.
- Wisconsin Lutheran, the league's preseason favorite, pulled away in the final 10 minutes of action with a 22-9 different to earn the victory.
- Sophomore Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) led the Falcons with 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, while junior Arianna Liddicoat (Watertown, Wis.) had six points and four rebounds. Sophomore Clara Chambers (Mineral Point, Wis.) ended with three steals, five rebounds and a block.
- Maddy Elrod was one of three Warriors in double-figures with 15 points, to go along with 15 rebounds and four steals. Jen Dowden and Kelly Tramburg added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

GAME NOTES
- The Falcons scored 12 points in the paint and forced 19 Warrior turnovers in the contest.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin returns to the road for a pair of NACC games next week, starting on Tuesday at Lakeland with a 7 pm tipoff scheduled.
