Offense on fire during sweep of Sabercats

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin had a slow start in the first set, but once it found its grove the moved quickly during a 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-14) victory over Maranatha Baptist in non-conference play inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The Falcons set a program record with a .341 hitting percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The scoreboard read 7-7 in the early going of the opening set before the Falcons went on a 12-2 scoring run to blow the match wide open. From then on the visiting Sabercats never threatened.
- Concordia Wisconsin hit .341 (42K-13E-85A) as a team, which is a program record.
- Sophomore Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) was outstanding in the middle, hitting .727 – a program record for a match – with eight kills and no errors on 11 attempts. Freshman James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) had a match-best 15 kills and hit .423.
- Freshman Connor Muff (Kenosha, Wis.) dialed up 28 assists and sophomore Sam Rovik (Silver Lake, Wis.) had eight kills, eight digs, two service aces and two block assists.
- The Falcons had all 13 players on the roster get into the match.
- Derek Wallis led Maranatha Baptist with four kills and Taylor Dafoe had 10 assists and six digs.

MATCH NOTES
- Concordia Wisconsin's .341 hitting percentage is .70 points better (.271) than the next best performance, which happened last Saturday in a three-set victory at Hiram.
- Schwandt's .727 was a near NACC record of .750 set by four players last season.
