Falcons drop NACC contest at No. 5 Dominican

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin couldn't slow down NACC preseason favorite Dominican on Friday night during a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-11) match inside Igini Sports Forum. The Stars are also ranked fifth in the latest AVCA Coaches' Poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin came out and played point for point with Dominican, as the scoreboard read 8-8 in the early going. From then on the hosts pulled away with an 11-3 scoring run before eventually taking the opening set.
- The Falcons offense stalled against the Stars, as the hit -.015 as a team. Sophomore Sam Rovik (Silver Lake, Wis.) led the lineup with seven kills, while sophomore Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) had four kills as a middle hitter with a .429 hitting percentage.
- Freshman Connor Muff (Kenosha, Wis.) dished out 14 assists and freshman Turner Fuhrer (Kenosha, Wis.) had five digs.
- The Stars hit .500 as a team, with George Kougan leading the way with nine kills. Ethan Klosak had eight kills and five digs. Jack McGuire directed the offense to the tune of 32 assists.

- Concordia Wisconsin will have a break from a busy start to the season with a week off before returning to NACC play on February 15 when it hosts Concordia Chicago at 7 pm.
