Althoff named Sports Imports/AVCA and NACC Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Concordia Wisconsin right-side hitter James Althoff has been named Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, the organizations announced.

Althoff, a freshman, had 14 kills, 17 digs, and six service aces to lead Concordia Wisconsin to its first conference win in program history with a five-set victory over No. 13 MSOE last Wednesday. He had the final point for the Falcons in each set they won, starting with a service ace to win the second. Down two sets to one, the Falcons battled back to win the fourth set after fighting off three match points. Althoff again closed out the set with a service ace. He then had the match-winning kill in the fifth-and-deciding set.

After going winless in their inaugural campaign in 2018 (0-26), the Falcons are out to a 5-3 mark after eight matches this season.
