Falcons Run Over Ripon

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team opened the spring campaign on Sunday morning with a commanding 8-1 victory over Ripon. The victory sends the Falcons to 1-1 on the year. Ripon falls to 0-4 with the loss.

The team of freshman Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) and freshman Shaun Del Vecchio (Alpharetta, Ga.) made quick work of Jack Ives and Kyle Pelzek with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Senior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) and junior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) secured an 8-3 victory over Caleb Sippel and Ty Rondestveld at No. 1 doubles.

The lone Red Hawk point of the day came at No. 2 doubles.

Shaun Del Vecchio brought out the brooms to start singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Ty Rondestveld at No. 3 singles.

The elder statesman of Joshua Klement cruised at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Jaden Francis.

Landon Sather secured a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Caleb Sippel at No. 1 singles.

At No. 2 singles, Renan Revite ran over Austin Stevens with a 6-3, 7-5 victory.

Sophomore Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) knocked down Corey Mooney at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

Senior Isaac Bruins (Oak Creek, Wis.) closed the book on the Red Hawks with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Jack Ives at No. 6 singles.

The Falcons look to continue their winning ways on Feb. 18 when they host the Eagles of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
