Falcons Finish ITA Action in Minnesota

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team finished up its weekend at the Midwest Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) had a sensational day and won the Midwest Invite Singles Consolation Group. He opened the day with an 8-0 victory over Caue Ribiero of Bethany Lutheran, 8-0. He then sank Saint Mary's Apel, 8-0. He rang Carroll's LaBelle, 8-5 and won the group with an 8-3 victory over Ong of Cornell. Shaun Del Vecchio (Alpharetta, Ga.) opened the group with an 8-7 victory over Wartburg's Palmertz but fell to Ong in the semifinals, 7-8 (2).

Freshman Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) and freshman Ben Hilpert (Pasadena, Md.) were in Group 2 on Saturday. Revite opened the day with an 8-0 sweep of Soori of Moorhead. Kanugovi of UWS ended the run with an 8-4 decision. Hilpert fell short against Gries of St. Scholastica, 8-3.

Senior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) reached the Group finals on Saturday. He knocked out a fellow NACC athlete in Edgewood's Olafsson, 8-2. He downed the Dutch of Central in Chedzoy, 8-1. Patten of St. Scholastica won the group with an 8-2 victory.

In the Midwest Open Double Championships, the team of senior Isaac Bruins (Oak Creek, Wis.) and sophomore Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) fell to Luther, 8-2.

The Falcons return to action in February against Ripon.
