Falcons Cruise at Lawrence
APPLETON, Wis. – The Falcons and the Vikings were able to dodge the rain on Tuesday afternoon at Lawrence. The Concordia men's tennis team picked up the 7-2 victory to improve to 10-7 on the season.
The Falcons started the day in singles play against Lawrence.
The Vikings took the first point of the day at No. 6 singles.
Senior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) crushed Owen Horton at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Senior Isaac Bruins (Oak Creek, Wis.) gave the Falcons the lead with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ethan Uribe at No. 5 singles.
At No. 1 singles, junior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) sailed to a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Andrew Larson.
Freshman Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) downed Dylan Delgado at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 7-5.
Lawrence pulled its second point of the day at No. 4 singles.
Renan Revite and Isaac Bruins extended the lead with a quick 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Joshua Klement and Landon Sather sank the Vikings on court one, 8-6.
Sophomore Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and freshman Kristopher Greenhaw (Huntington Beach, Calif.) ended the match with an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.
With the win, the Falcons have reached the 10-win plateau for the 20th time in program history and have guaranteed the Falcons will finish the year with a winning record.
The Falcons will close out the regular season on Thursday in a rescheduled match against Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
