Van Dusseldorp named First Team All-NACC, six from Men's Soccer honored
WAUKESHA, Wis. – Junior forward Keegan Van Dusseldorp was named to the All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer First Team, highlighting six Concordia University Wisconsin selections as the league announced its postseason awards Wednesday.
Van Dusseldorp (Burlington, Wis.) tied for fourth in the NACC with 11 goals scored, which was also a new career best total. He led the conference with 94 shots in 18 games and finished the year with 22 points. The junior forward posted three game-winning goals, one of those coming in conference play on October 25 against Concordia University Chicago. It was the third time Van Dusseldorp has been recognized by the conference, earning All-Freshman accolades in 2012 and Second Team honors last season.
Three Falcons earned Second Team All-NACC honors in seniors Diego Campos, Paul Stuebs and David Kulberg. The Falcons also had a pair of rookies named to the All-Freshman Team in Micheal Benash and Luis Loya.
Campos (Milwaukee, Wis.) was named to the Second Team for the second straight season after earning First Team honors in 2012. The midfielder ranked second on the team with five assists, adding three goals which totaled 11 points. Eight of his 11 points came in NACC matches, including goals against Dominican University, Marian University and Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Stuebs (Neenah, Wis.) was named to the Second Team for the second straight season. This year Stuebs moved around the pitch, playing both midfield and defense. He was a captain for the second straight year, as was Campos.
Kulberg (Maple Grove, Minn.) was named to the Second Team, receiving his first All-NACC accolades. He played a key role on a Falcons defense that posted four shutouts and allowed just 12goals in 10 conference matches.
Loya (Bolingbrook, Ill.) was the Falcons third leading scorer after netting three goals and six assists, good for 12 points. The freshman led the team in assists and had one-game winning goal. Both he and Benash played in all 20 games this season, Benash providing quality depth to the midfield. Both players will be key pieces to the Falcons future.
Logan Andryk of MSOE was named the NACC Offensive Player of the Year, while Logan Marvin of Dominican was the Defensive Player of the Year. Andryk's coach Jimmy Banks was selected as Coach of the Year, while Nick Kapetanos of Benedictine University earned the Freshman of the Year honors.
