UW-Oshkosh downs Men's Soccer in non-conference play

OSHKOSH, Wis. – UW-Oshkosh scored twice in each half en route to a 4-1 non-conference win over the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team Saturday afternoon.

Junior Keegan Van Dusseldorp (Burlington, Wis.) continued his strong play for the Falcons as he scored the lone goal, his team-leading seventh of the season. Van Dusseldorp scored at the 58:36 mark of the second half, executing a header off a free kick from senior Diego Campos (Milwaukee, Wis.). The goal made the score 2-1 at the time.

UWO, which scored twice in the opening half, would quickly go back up two goals, scoring 4:52 after the Van Dusseldorp score. Jacob Hernandez was the player who made the score 3-1, striking from 15 yards out of an assist from Javier Simon. Scott Brugioni then scored with under 15 minutes to play from 40 yards out to make the final 4-1 in favor of the host Titans.

UWO (5-4-1) controlled play, outshooting the Falcons by a 13-5 count. CUW split play between two keepers on Saturday, junior Alec Brew and sophomore Dillon Pallex. Brew (Appleton, Wis.) started and was the goalie of record, making two saves in the first half. Pallex (Pulaski, Wis.) played the final 45 minutes.

The win went to Sam Gabrilska as the Titans goalkeeper played the entire contest, making four saves. Van Dusseldorp had three of five Falcons shots, as all five of the team's shots ended up on goal. UWO finished with six shots on goal. Karl Bock and Jonathan Stanley scored the first-half goals for the Titans, Stanley recording the game-winner.

CUW (3-7-0) will return to the pitch Wednesday in a non-conference match against UW-Whitewater. The Falcons and Warhawks are set for a 4 p.m. start from Fitting Field.
