Men's Hockey drops NCHA matchup at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin was able to find the back of the net just once on Friday night, as Lake Forest College took the opening game of the series in commanding fashion, 9-1, during Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play.

The Falcons gave up a pair of goals halfway through the opening period before sophomore Tanner Bull (Brooklin, Ontario) scored the only goal for the visitors – a power-play conversion – which was assisted by freshman Jared Pilet (Seattle, Wash.) and sophomore Cody Dixon (Hales Corners, Wis.).

After that, the Foresters took over and scored seven unanswered games to win easily. LFC entered as one of the hottest teams in the NCHA, having not lost in its last 12 games, scored a trio of goals in each period. They also finished the game with a 39-26 shots on goal advantage.

Neither team played well on the power-play, as each team finished 1-for-5. The whistles were even as well, with the Falcons and Foresters each called for seven infractions for 14 minutes. In all, five different Foresters scored twice, while Andrew Stein and Jack Lewis led all players with three points each (one goal, two assists).

CUW completes the series against LFC on Saturday at 7 p.m. at home inside the Ozaukee Ice Center.
