MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team defeated Finlandia University by a 4-1 score in last night's Northern Collegiate Hockey Association matchup. The win was the first in NCHA play this season for the Falcons, who have now won three straight contests and four of their past five.
Junior goaltender Domingo Torrenueva (Oshawa, Ontario) was excellent in stopping 28 of 29 shots he faced, posting a .966 save percentage. The Falcons offense was paced by a trio of players who recorded two points. Freshmen Anthony Pickering (Sylvan Lake, Alberta) and Braden Crone (Metiskow, Alberta), as well as sophomore Cody Dixon (Hales Corners, Wis.) each scored a goal and added an assist. Pickering has now recorded a point in seven straight games, while Dixon's second period goal was the game-winner.
CUW and Finlandia will conclude its series today at 4 p.m. at the Ozaukee Ice Center.
