Men's Hockey picked sixth in NCHA Preseason Poll

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team was slated for a sixth-place finish in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, according to the preseason poll voted on by the league's 10 head coaches.

The Falcons are coming off a season where they won a program-best 10 games, including going 7-9-2 in the NCHA. CUW finished sixth last season, two spots ahead of their predicted preseason spot. The Falcons received 37 points in this year's poll.

Defending league and national champion St. Norbert College earned nine first-place votes and 81 points, being tabbed to repeat as NCHA champions. Adrian College received the final first-place vote and was selected second, while St. Scholastica earned a third-place finish.

Lake Forest was predicted fourth, followed by Marian. After CUW came MSOE, Lawrence, Northland and Finlandia.

CUW will open the 2014-15 season in a home-and-home series against Lawrence this weekend. The Falcons will visit the Vikings Friday night at 7 p.m., while the home-opener is slated for Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Ozaukee Ice Center.
