WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES TO CONSIDER | MEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES TO CONSIDER
• DEFENSE DOES ITS JOB: It is well known that Stacey Brunner-Jones' teams are defensive-minded and do everything they can to cause havoc on the opposition. Well, the message was sent on Wednesday night against Wisconsin Lutheran by holding them to just seven first-half points and 28.0 percent shooting for the game. The Warriors scored just two points in the second period of the NACC game. | • REBOUNDING AN IMPORTANT STAT: Concordia Wisconsin's rebounding game as gotten back on track the past three games, as they hauled in an average of 44.3 per game; as well as grabbing double-figure offensive rebounds. Meanwhile, Benedictine enters as the second-best rebounding team in the NACC at 39.8 per game.
• LIDDICOAT GIVING A SPARK: Arianna Liddicoat is taking full advantage of her opportunity over the last four games. She is playing twice as many minutes and the production is there as well, scoring 7.3 points and making 7-of-16 3-point attempts (.438). | • GOING TO BE TOUGH: The Falcons will need to force turnovers on Saturday in order to gain offensive possessions, but the Eagles won't make it easy as they rank 24th nationally committing just 11.1 turnovers per game. Concordia Wisconsin has won the turnover battle just four times this season and Benedictine has given up the ball in the singles digits on seven occasions.
• BARKER-LIDDICOAT GIVING THE PUNCH: Baylee Barker and Arianna Liddicoat are providing the one-two punch the Falcons have been searching for this season regarding the 3-point shot. The duo has combined to make 15-of-25 triples (60 percent) over the last three games. Each has made multiple long balls in two separate games. | • FRATZKE'S NEAR TRIPLE-DOUBLE: Andrew Fratzke nearly accomplished something no other Falcon had done before -- record a triple-double. The forward finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks on Thursday night. Fratzke rejected five shots in the first half and had eight with 10 minutes to play in the game.
• LET'S TALK: While we are only mid-way through the season, the fans are probably starting to ask themselves: is this the best Falcons defensive team ever? The question can be asked and we can provide some midseason statistics that give a valid argument. At the moment they would have the No. 1 ranked scoring defense (49.9), field goal percentage defense (.358) and 3-point field percentage defense (.232) if the season were to end today -- in program history that is. However, their blocks average is ranked ninth and steals don't even crack the top-10. As well, the defensive effort has led to an impressive 19.2 points off turnovers this season, so we will let you decide. | • HAU EXPLOSION: Josh Hau entered the season with just 11 career points, but this is a different year with different circumstances. The guard has five double-figure scoring games and three 20-plus point performances. Hau was inserted into the starting lineup two games ago and has since scored 44 points, drained 5-of-12 long balls and grabbed eight rebounds per game. |

• BENEDICTINE ON A ROLL: The Eagles have surely made a statement for themselves on a national level, but obviously within the NACC with their 34-game winning streak against league foes. |
