Late free throws seal Men's Basketball win at Lakeland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin drained six free throws in the final 49 seconds to help seal a 76-71 road NACC victory over Lakeland on Wednesday night inside Woltzen Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons made 6-of-8 free throws with the game on the line by players off the bench to help secure the victory and keep them undefeated in league play.
- After using an 8-0 run in the final minutes of the second half to build a double-digit cushion, Concordia Wisconsin went ahead by a game-high 14 points but it didn't last long. Lakeland answered with an 18-4 scoring run of their own during a four-and-a-half minute span to knot the scoreboard at 43-43 with just under 16 minutes to play.
- From then on it was a single-figure game that had two more scoring ties and four lead changes.
- The Muskies held a 26-18 lead in points off turnovers and an 18-6 difference in second chance points, however.
- Sophomore Andrew Fratzke (Winona, Minn.) ended the win with a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds.
- Senior Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) recorded 16 points (four 3-pointers), three rebounds and two assists. Junior Josh Erickson (Manitowoc, Wis.) tallied 13 points, six rebounds and six assists.
- Senior Montrell Hobbs (Milwaukee, Wis.) added eight points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and block.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons start league play with a 3-0 record for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

THE OPPOSITION
- Pat McDonald led all players with 23 points, while Joshuan McNeal had 18 points. Both players combined for six 3-pointers and were 14-of-38 shooting.
- McNeal also had five rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals.
- Mark Gryskiewicz ended with 12 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.
- Eric Nygaard recorded 11 points, eight rebounds and two steals.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin hosts Dominican on Saturday for a 4:15 pm tipoff to end a NACC doubleheader.
