Men's Basketball defeats Wisconsin Lutheran with first-half outburst

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin put the game out reach in the first half with a 19-2 scoring run over a six-minute stretch en route to an 84-67 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran on Thursday night inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josh Hau did most of his damage during the Falcons scoring run with 11 points (three 3-pointers and a tip-in bucket), while Josh Erickson tallied seven points and Jake Jurss drained a triple. The lead was extended to as many as 23 points by halftime, which allowed the hosts to initiate cruise control from then on.
- Concordia Wisconsin's advantage dipped into the teens briefly on several occasions during the final 20 minutes of play, but Wisconsin Lutheran never challenged to make a game of it.
- The Falcons found their shooting touch again with 10 3-pointers and recorded 23 assists on 30 field goals. They also hauled in 12 offensive rebounds and made 14-of-17 free throws (82.4 percent).
- Hau and Erickson continued their impressive scoring spree, as they each set new career highs with 24 points each. Hau (sophomore, Slinger, Wis.) was 9-of-16 from the field with three long balls, while Erickson (junior, Manitowoc, Wis.) shot 7-of-14 from the floor and knocked down four triples.
- Sophomore Andrew Fratzke (Winona, Minn.) had a near triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high eight blocks.
- Sophomore Jake Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) ended with a career-high nine assists, to go along with five points and three rebounds. Senior Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) had five points, six rebounds, six assists and a pair of steals.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Jurss' nine assists were tied for the eighth most in a game by a Falcon in program history.
- Fratzke's eight rejections was one shy of tying the program record.
- Erickson also made a career-high six free throws and Hau had career-bests in rebounds (eight) and assists (four).
- Concordia Wisconsin shot 55.6 percent (20-of-36) in the first half.

THE OPPOSITION
- Chase Nowak led the Warriors with 20 points, while Tanner Schieve added 10 points and six rebounds.
- Tyler De Young hauled in a team-best seven rebounds and three Warriors stole a pair of passes.
