CLERMONT, Fla. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Softball team fell in a pair of close contests Wednesday in Florida. The Falcons dropped a slugfest against Ohio Wesleyan to start the day, 10-7, before being edged in a pitcher dual against Scranton, 1-0. CUW is now 4-4 on the trip, which concludes with two games tomorrow.

OHIO WESLEYAN 10, CUW 7
- The Falcons trailed the entire contest against the Bishops, including falling behind 6-1 after two innings of play. Trailing 8-2, CUW made things interesting with a five-run sixth inning, but the Bishops added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh for the 10-7 final.
- Ohio Wesleyan used the long ball to down the Falcons, belting three home runs in the contest. Two of the roundtrippers came in the second inning, the third coming in the fourth frame. Jenna Pozezinski (Lake Villa, Ill.) added a home run of her own, a solo shot in the five-run sixth.
- Pozezinski had three hits to pace the Falcons, while Allison Peters (Elk Grove, Ill.), Maddie Zazas (Mundelein, Ill.), and Becky Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis.) all had two hits each. Peters drove in a team-best three runs for CUW.
- Molly O'Connell (New London, Wis.) was the pitcher of record for the Falcons, who had three pitchers step in the circle against the Bishops. Nicole Lewis (Manhattan, Ill.) pitched five innings, while Pozezinski recorded the final two outs. Madi Drabick went the distance for the Bishops, allowing four earned in seven innings.
SCRANTON 1, CUW 0
- Game two was a pitchers dual as Morgan Rentzheimer had the Falcons off balance in a complete game shutout. She gave up four hits and struck out four.
- Pozezinski and Lewis threw for the Falcons, Pozezinski getting the decision after allowing one run in 2.1 innings of work. Lewis fired 3.2 scoreless frames, allowing just one hit and striking out six.
- Bonnin paced the Falcons with two hits as each team finished with four hits in the contest. The Royals scored their run in the first inning on a passed ball.

- The Falcons close their Florida trip with two games tomorrow. The Falcons will take on North Park at 2 eastern followed by a game against Stockton.
