Men's Tennis downed by Grinnell on final day in Florida

ORLANDO – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Tennis team closed its Florida trip Thursday morning with a non-conference match against Grinnell College. The Falcons fell against Pioneers by a 9-0 score, falling to 1-4 in Florida matches.

The Pioneers (12-9) started the day off with three wins in doubles play, the closest of those coming at No. 1 doubles. Senior Benjamin Nommensen (Waupaca, Wis.) and freshman Brad Guendel (Greendale, Wis.) battled Grinnell's top pair, but ultimately fell by an 8-5 score.

Singles play was all GC as the Falcons fell in all six matches. All six went straight sets, allowing Grinnell to gain the 9-0 victory.

CUW (2-8) will be off until April 4 when it opens its NACC season. The Falcons will take on Dominican and Concordia Chicago in road NACC matches that day, the Dominican contest starting at 10 a.m.
