Men's Tennis blanked by Adrian in non-conference match
JACKSON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Tennis team was blanked, 9-0, by Adrian College in a non-league match at the Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club Friday night.
The Bulldogs won all three doubles to open up the night with a 3-0 lead before sweeping singles play. Five of the six singles matches were in straight sets. Freshman Brad Guendel (Greendale, Wis.) took his No. 4 singles match to a tiebreaker but was edged 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8).
In doubles play the top Falcons team of Guendel and senior Benjamin Nommensen (Waupaca, Wis.) had the closest of the three matches as they fell 9-7. The other two doubles matches were 8-4 and 8-2 victories for the Bulldogs.
The Falcons are off until March 16 when they begin their spring trip in Orlando. CUW will battle both Colorado College and Simpson College on the first day in Florida.
