
Women’s Cross Country Snags Seven Personal Bests in Appleton
APPLETON, Wis. – The CUW women's cross country team finished its last event before the NACC Championships at the Wisconsin Private College Championship. The Falcons finished in sixth place as a team with 126 points.
The Falcons posted six career personal records and one season-best time in their 6k race.
Senior LaNea Bartel (Kewaunee, Wis.) claimed the race's fourth-place spot with a personal-best finish of 23:09.30.
Senior Teagan Monfils (Green Bay, Wis.) took team second and race 10th posting her third straight season PR with a race time of 23:53.50.
Third for the Falcons was freshman Ella Stader (Oostburg, Wis.) finishing with a PR of 25:46.30.
The fourth Falcon to cross the line was sophomore Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) posting a 25:51.10 6k time.
Abigail Van Rixel, a sophomore from Athens, Wisconsin, posted a career-best of 26:08.70 claiming Falcon fifth.
Coming in right behind Van Rixel was junior Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) with a career-best time of 26:10.40.
The final score for the Falcon team came from sophomore Holly Klomhaus (Poplar, Wis.) with a personal-best time of 28:32.40.
Outside of the total team score, freshman Lauren Pichler (Waukesha, Wis.) and junior Kaitlynn Sabish (Campbellsport, Wis.) finished in the individual column with times of 29:15.40 and 31:25.10 respectively.
The Falcons look to use the week to tune-up for their NACC Championship return on Oct. 30.
