BATAVIA, Ill. – Once again, the Concordia Wisconsin women's cross country team dominated at the 2024 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Cross Country Championships. The Falcons defended their title with 26 points in first place.

Today marked the seventh NACC title in program history and 14th overall. CUW won the NACC crown in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2017 and 2023. Concordia has also won Lake Michigan Conference titles in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2005.

The coaching staff, led by Russ DeLap, was recognized by their peers as the NACC Women's Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year. It is the sixth time that DeLap or a DeLap-led staff has been recognized by his fellow coaches.

"The girls ran great as a whole, trained hard all season, and performed spectacularly today," said head coach Russ DeLap. It was well deserved and I am happy for them."

The Falcons had three of the four best times on Saturday.

Junior Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Madrid, Spain) was in second place on Saturday at 22:14.98.

In third place was junior Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) at 22:46.64.

Senior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.) collected fourth-place honors at 22:51.66.

Sophomore Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.) crossed the finish line in sixth place at 23:29.32.

Junior Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) was the fifth Falcon to claim All-NACC honors in 11th place at 24:22.21.

Sophomore Mikayla Becker (Plantation, Fla.) brought home 23rd-place honors at 25:11.61.

Junior Elizabeth Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) and sophomore Kylee Camble (Cudahy, Wis.) finished back-to-back in 33rd and 34th place at 26:00.09 and 26:02.43 respectively.

In 44th place was freshman Annabelle Gonnering (West Bend, Wis.) with a time of 26:38:05.

Sophomore Hailey Foster (Pewaukee, Wis.) clocked in at 26:53:35 in 50th place.

The Falcons look to ride the momentum into the NCAA Division III North Regionals in Northfield, Minnesota.
