Women’s Cross Country Secures a Second-Place Finish at Elmhurst

ELMHURST, Ill. – The CUW women's cross country team secured a second-place finish at the Elmhurst Early Bird Invite on Friday afternoon with 78 points. The host Bluejays won the race with 32 points.

Senior LaNea Bartel (Kewanee, Wis.) led the flock in third place at 15:26.

Senior Teagan Monfils (Green Bay, Wis.) finished in the top-10 in eighth place at 16:03.

Clocking in at 16:54 was sophomore Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) in 21st place, just ahead of freshman Ella Stader (Oostburg, Wis.) in 22nd place at 17:09.

Junior Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) crossed the finish line at 17:16 in 24th place.

Sophomore Abigail Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) ran a time of 17:56 in 27th place.

Sophomore Holly Klomhaus (Poplar, Wis.) finished in 37th place at 19:15.

Freshman Lauren Pichler (Waukesha, Wis.) rounded out the flock with a time of 20:07.

The Falcons return home on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Ken Weidt Invitational.
