Falcons Finish Ninth in Eau Claire

COLFAX, Wis. – On Friday evening, the Concordia Wisconsin women's cross country team pieced together another solid outing at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational. The Concordia women finished in ninth place in a loaded field of teams from the north region. The Falcons finished in ninth place at 310 points. Carleton led the way with 40 points. CUW also had individuals in the open race and finished in seventh place at 249 points.

Junior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.) led the Falcons on Friday in 22nd place at 23:19.20.

In 47th place was freshman Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.) at 23:50:30.

Sophomore Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) secured a 70th-place finish at 24:09.50.

Sophomore Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 24:44.70 in 101st place.

Sophomore Abigail Poehlman (Hubertus, Wis.) picked up a 105th-place finish at 24:49.50.

Senior Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) ran a time of 24:53.60 in 112th place.

Sophomore Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) garnered a 116th-place finish at 24:59.30.

In 157th place was junior Ella Stader (Oostburg, Wis.) with a time of 26:01.20.

Freshman Faith Konzak (Cedar Grove, Wis.) collected a 170th-place finish at 26:22.70 ahead of senior MaryGrace Cleinmark (Danvers, Ill.) in 171st place.

CUW also had seven runners in the open six-kilometer race.

Senior Abigail Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) was in 61st place at 26:50.00.

Sophomore Elizabeth Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) finished the race in 72nd place at 27:06.30.

Freshman Abigail Lange (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) finished shortly behind in 72nd place at 27:06.30.

Freshman Hailey Foster (Pewaukee, Wis.) brought home a 79th-place finish at 27:25.10.

Freshman Bailee Schlender (Brillion, Wis.) secured the 89th place position at 27:37.60.

Senior Holly Klomhaus (Poplar, Wis.) ended the race in 93rd place at 27:43.70.

Freshman Sydney Leschisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) rounded out the flock in 144th place at 30:18.90.

The Falcons return to action on Oct. 14 at the Wisconsin Private College Championships in Beloit.
