Women’s Cross Country Finishes 11th at NCAA North Regional

COLFAX, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's cross country team finished 11th at the NCAA Division III North Regional Championships on Saturday. The Falcons finished in 11th place at 319 points.  

The 11th-place finish is the best for the Falcons since 2015 when CUW finished 10th.  

Junior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.) led CUW in 39th place with a career-best time of 22:56.0. 

In 53rd place was freshman Emma Aherns (Stephens City, Va.) at 23:19.0. 

Sophomore Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) finished at 23:35.0 in 65th place.  

Sophomore Abigail Poehlman (Hubertus, Wis.) picked up a career-best performance of 23:43.7 performance in 77th place.  

Senior Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) crossed the finish line at 24:04.3 in 90th place with a career-best time ahead of sophomore Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) in 92nd place at 24:09.1, who also had a career-best performance.  

Sophomore Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill. rounded out the flock in 140th place at 25:15.4.  

Carleton won the competition with 48 points. 

Concordia had the best finish at the championship from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.  

The Falcons look to soar again in the fall of 2024.
