Falcons Take Third at Parkside Lucian Rosa Invite

KENOSHA, Wis. – CUW women's cross country team took third place at the Parkside Lucian Rosa Invite with a team score of 72 while host school and NCAA Division II member, UW-Parkside took first with a team score of 15.

First to cross the finish line for CUW was freshman Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.) who ran a 25:29.05 and placed 11th.

Behind Ahrens, was junior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.) who took 12th place and recorded a time of 25:29.

The 18th-22nd spots all belonged to CUW as sophomores Abigail Poehlman (Hubertus, Wis.), Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.), Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) and Melanie Arvis (Berywn, Ill.) all finished with a time of 26:51.

Senior Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) and junior Ella Stader (Ootsburg, Wis.) both registered times of 27:24, as Yim took 24th place and Stader took 25th.

26th, 27th, and 28th were all Falcons, as freshman Faith Konzak (Cedar Grove, Wis), and senior MaryGrace Cleinmark (Danvers, Ill.) ran a 28:22 and 28:23 senior Abigail Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) ran a 28:34.

Freshman Abigail Lange (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) ran a 29:20 for 30th place, while freshman Bailee Schlender registered a time of 29:28 for 31st place, while sophomore Elizabeth Van Rixel took 32nd place, also with a time of 29:28.

In 34th place was freshman Sarah Tinder (Fredonia, Wis.), as she ran a 30:04.

Across the finish line next for Concordia was senior Holly Klomhaus (Poplar, Wis.) as she ran 30:44.

The meet also saw freshman Sydney Leschisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) claim 37th place with a time of 31:09.

Rounding out the Falcons lineup was freshman Mikayla Becker (Plantation, Fla.), as she ran a 33:42 and claimed 39th place.

CUW will look ahead to their next race slated for Friday, Sept. 29 at the UWEC BluGold Invitational.
