Women’s Tennis places three on NAC All-Conference team

MILWAUKEE - After capturing a share of the conference title, Concordia University Wisconsin's women's tennis program placed three student-athletes on the All-Northern Athletics Conference team, the league office announced Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Meagan Harrington (Kingsford, Mich.), junior Julie Spransy (Brown Deer, Wis.), and sophomore Kristine Weber (Rochester Hills, Mich.) represented the Falcons on the list of top players in the NAC.

Harrington - CUW's No. 1 singles player - earned All-NAC honors after she advanced to the finals at the NAC Individual Tournament for the first time in her career. She finished the season with an impressive 12-3 record in singles play and was 7-3 over her last 10 matches.

Spransy - CUW's No. 2 singles player - also earned All-NAC honors after she reached the quarterfinals of the NAC Individual Tournament, before falling to the eventual champion. She concluded the season with an 11-3 singles record and was also 7-3 over her last 10 matches.

Both Harrington and Spransy capped their outstanding season with a NAC title during the doubles portion of the Individual Tournament. They both were named to the All-NAC Doubles Team after leading the Falcons as the No. 1 doubles pair and nearly went undefeated this season with a 13-1 record.

Weber earned a spot on the All-NAC Sportsmanship Team. She was unable to compete this season due to injury. Last season she finished with a 13-6 singles record and was a part of six doubles wins.

CUW has won a share of four NAC regular season championships in the conference's six year history and own a share of two-consecutive titles. The Falcons have now won the doubles championship, or won a flight, for the sixth-straight year.
