WLC defeats CUW tennis 8-1, Falcons share NAC title
Milwaukee - Wisconsin Lutheran, now 9-1 in league play, needed a win over CUW in the Falcons' final dual match to retain their hopes of finishing in a tie with CUW and Edgewood for the regular season women's tennis title. They got it.
All but one of last night's matches went 'down to the wire' with WLC winning each of the close ones including the doubles events by 8-6, 9-8, and 9-8 counts to hand Concordia a deceiving 8-1 defeat.
Only Jaclyn Ward at No. 3 singles was victorious for Pat Schramka's squad which still secured a piece of Concordia's first fall 2011 Nortern Athletics Conference title.
CUW, like Edgewood, finished the league season at 10-1. WLC can be part of a 2011 tri-champion contingent with a win over Alverno.
