Women’s Tennis Wins Ninth Straight

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin's women's tennis team kept their undefeated record intact on Wednesday afternoon as Pat Schramka's netters downed MSOE, 7-2, in Northern Athletics Conference play at McKinley Park.

The Falcons (9-0, 9-0 NAC) still have a pair of undefeated singles players in juniors Julie Spransy (Brown Deer, Wis.) and Jaclyn Ward (Franklin, Wis.) who won 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-3, respectively.

CUW's doubles combination of sophomore Meagan Harrington (Kingsford, Mich.) and Spransy stayed perfect on the season with an 8-4 victory.

CUW has two NAC matches remaining this season - both home contests. The Falcons take on Lakeland College (3-5) on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m, and host Wisconsin Lutheran College (8-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. Edgewood (9-1) has only one match remaining.

The Eagles and Warriors, of course, are hoping for a WLC win over CUW in the Sept. 27 finale to create a 3 way tie for the regular season top spot. Schramka's squad will need wins over Lakeland and Wisconsin Lutheran to secure the outright title.
