Theune collects third straight NACC weekly award for Women's Soccer

WAUKESHA, Wis. – For the third consecutive week the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Soccer team had a player earn the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Student-Athlete of the Week Award. Senior Jaclyn Theune earned the honors this week, the league office announced Monday.

Theune (Oostburg, Wis.) converted a pair of second-half penalty kicks as the Falcons knocked off defending NACC champion Aurora Saturday by a score of 3-0. The senior made her penalty kicks in the 66th and 89th minutes, helping hand Aurora its first league loss in nearly two years.

The multi-goal contest was the third of Theune's career as she now has three goals on the season. She and the Falcons remain unbeaten in NACC play with a 3-0-0 record.

The award was the third straight for CUW as fellow seniors Carley Pfannerstill (Grafton, Wis.) and Emily Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) captured the honors the past two weeks. The three players also serve as the captains of this year's team.

Theune and the rest of the Falcons return to the pitch Wednesday for a conference matchup against Benedictine. Action is set to get underway from Fitting Field at 4 p.m.
