Ciesielczyk honored with NACC Women's Soccer Weekly Award

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin senior Emily Ciesielczyk has been honored as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the events of September 21-27, the league announced Monday.

Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) recorded three points over a 2-0 week for the Falcons. On Saturday in a NACC win over MSOE she played a role in both goals of a 2-0 victory. Ciesielczyk assisted on her sister's (Nicole) opening goal in the 10th minute and then added a score of her own late in the match. She also scored in a 3-2 comeback victory over St. Norbert Wednesday in non-conference action.

The senior now has eight points this season and has played a key role in the Falcons 6-1-2 start, which includes a 2-0-0 mark in conference play. The NACC weekly honor was the second of her career, as she also gained the honor in September of 2013 during her sophomore season. The honor was also the second straight for the Falcons as senior Carley Pfannerstill (Grafton, Wis.) earned the recognition last week.

Ciesielczyk and the Falcons will return to the pitch Saturday in a rematch of last year's NACC Final against defending champion Aurora. The matchup is set for a 3:30 p.m. start at Fitting Field in Mequon.
