Men’s Tennis falls to Division I Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Falcons faced a Division I opponent in the Phoenix on Saturday afternoon, as Concordia Wisconsin fell 7-0 to Green Bay.

THE BASICS
-Final Score: Green Bay 7, Concordia Wisconsin 0
-Order of Finish: Doubles (2,1,3), Singles (3,5,1,6,4,2)
-Records: Green Bay 1-4, Concordia Wisconsin 3-2

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons dropped the top two doubles matches 6-2, though they got another game at the No. 3 match at 6-3. By Division I rules, the team that wins the majority of the three doubles matches gets one point, rather than each match being worth a point each as the DIII rules are, making the max point total seven instead of the usual nine.
-In singles, Christian Doctor (Madison, Wis.) fought and won nine games at the No. 2 spot against Dipin Wadhwa. The junior got four games in the first set and another five in the second against his DI opponent, though he ultimately fell 6-4, 7-5.
-James Ling won the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-2. The Phoenix won the No. 3 match 6-1, 6-1 and the No. 4 match 6-1, 6-3 while sweeping the No. 5 and 6 matches.

UP NEXT
-The Falcons travel to face North Central on Friday, March 1.
