Men’s Tennis sweeps Aurora, falls to Illinois Tech

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons battled against the NACC-leading Scarlet Hawks but fell 6-3. They rebounded with a 9-0 sweep of the Spartans in their second match on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In the first match of the day against the conference-leading Scarlet Hawks, the Falcons struggled in doubles competition as they were swept 3-0.
-In singles, the Falcons split the matches 3-3 with the NACC leaders. Christian Docter (Madison, Wis.) won No. 2 singles 7-6, 6-2. Gabe Binversie (Plymouth, Wis.) took the No. 5 match 7-5, 6-4. Tim Peters (Slinger, Wis.) won the No. 6 match in a 7-6, 2-6, 10-6 three-set battle.
-In the second match against the Spartans, the Falcons faired far better.
-The Falcons swept the doubles matches, winning 24 games and losing only two.
-In singles, Nathan Raskin (Shorewood, Wis.) won his No. 6 match first with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
-Peters followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 5 spot to give CUW the match-deciding fifth point.
-Binversie continued the Falcons winning streak with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
-Docter proceeded to take the No. 1 match 6-1, 6-2.
-Logan Snyder (Franklin, Ind.) followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2.
-Finally, Peter Kloda (Morton Grove, Ill.) finished the CUW 9-0 sweep with a 7-6, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.
