Men's Lacrosse season ends in MLC Tournament

ADRIAN, Mich. – Concordia University Wisconsin's season ended on Wednesday afternoon at No. 1 seeded Adrian College with a 20-4 loss in the Midwest Lacrosse Tournament semifinals at Performance Stadium.

CUW (9-7) held steady with AC (16-1) through the opening quarter with a 4-4 tie, but the top-ranked team in the MLC was too much in the end. The Falcons finished the season with a program record nine victories and advanced to the conference tournament for the first time.

Freshman Derek Brueske paced CUW with a pair of goals and an assist, while sophomore Danny Dahms (Calgary, Alberta) and freshman Matt Larsen (Gurnee, Ill.) each scored. Sophomore Sam Wladyka (Winnipeg, Wis.) also assisted on a goal.

Sophomore Zack Davis (La Porte, Ind.) took the loss after saving a career-best 15 shots.

T.J. Cook led all scorers with five goals, while Coady Adamson found the back of the net four times. The Bulldogs scored the last 17 goals to finish the game.

CUW finished the 2012 campaign by setting new records in several statistical categories including goals (163), assists (88), ground balls (475) and saves (166). In addition, numerous players set career-bests and are now ranked first all-time in program history.
