Seven Falcons named to Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad

GILBERT, Ariz. – Seven players from the Concordia University Wisconsin Field Hockey team have been named to the 2017 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad, the organization announced Thursday.

In order to qualify, a student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Over 1,700 student-athletes from 149 different schools were honored by the organization.

The seven student-athletes from the Falcons honored were: Brianna Buehler, Kelsey Fulton, Rachel Larson, Abigail Martin, Callie Neumann, Sophia O'Connor, and Nina Orlando. Buehler was named as a Scholar of Distinction last week, as she has a GPA higher than 3.90, it was the second straight Scholar of Distinction award for Buehler.

Fulton, Larson, Martin, and O'Connor join Buehler as players who have made the National Academic Squad two years in a row. Neumann and Bond are both freshmen, earning the honor in their first year of eligibility.
