Field Hockey struggles in second half in setback at Roanoke

SALEM, VA. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Field Hockey team played the first of three road games this weekend Thursday afternoon at Roanoke. The Falcons and Maroons were tied at the half before Roanoke put up four goals in the final 35 minutes for a 4-0 final.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Roanoke 4, Concordia Wisconsin 0
- Location: Kerr Stadium – Salem, Virginia
- Records: CUW 4-7; Roanoke 12-2

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kennedy Boyer (Saline, Mich.) was zoned in the first half, stopping 10 shots to keep the Maroons off the board. The Falcons were outshot 13-1 in the opening half, and 22-2 for the contest.

- Roanoke scored three times in the first 8:41 of the second half to build a 3-0 lead. Emilee Wooten, who tallied the game-winner in the 38th minute, finished with two scores to pace the Maroons.

- Boyer finished the game with 14 saves. Heather Schauder made one save for Roanoke.

- Rachel Larson (Fenton, Mo.) tallied both shots for the Falcons, one on goal.
