Dunn makes history with Field Hockey's first-ever All-Region nod

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Field Hockey program began in 2016 and already the Falcons have made plenty of history in two seasons. From first win to first conference win to first All-Conference selection, the Falcons have laid down a strong foundation for the program.

The Falcons can add another first to the list: All-Region honoree. Sophomore midfielder Sam Dunn was named to the Longstreth/NFCHA Second Team All-Great Lakes Region Team, which was announced Wednesday afternoon.

"I am very proud of the player Sam has become and the potential that she still has as a sophomore is tremendous, "head coach Sam Landis said. "This is a well-deserved honor and I'm thrilled that all of her hard work is paying off."

Dunn (Sussex, Wis.) started 13 games for the Falcons this season. The 2017 First Team All-SAA pick, scored three goals and added three assists while performing as one of the top midfielders in the area. Dunn attempted 41 shots for the year.

Dunn and the Falcons won five games this season while competing in the Southern Athletic Association for the first time.
