Field Hockey drops road contest at Rhodes

MEMPHIS – The Concordia University Wisconsin Field Hockey team was shut out for the third straight game Sunday, dropping a 4-0 Southern Athletic Association game at Rhodes.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Rhodes 4, Concordia Wisconsin 0
- Location: Mason Field – Memphis, Tennessee
- Records: Rhodes 4-3, 1-0 SAA; CUW 2-3, 0-2 SAA

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rhodes, the defending SAA champs, scored 8:34 into play for a 1-0 lead. Hailey Mules scored the goal for the Lynx, a goal that would be the only first-half score.

- The Lynx struck three times in the second half to pull away for the 4-0 win. Lizzie Wood scored two of the second-half goals for the Lynx.

- Kennedy Boyer (Saline, Mich.) made 10 saves for the Falcons, while CUW also received a defensive save from Abigail Martin (Saline, Mich.).

- Rhodes dominated possession throughout the game, outshooting the Falcons, 24-2. Kelsey Fulton (Sussex, Wis.) and Rachel Larson (Fenton, Mo.) tallied the shots for CUW.

UP NEXT
- CUW will be back at it next weekend with a pair of games. The Falcons will play both games at DePauw University in Indiana, but will not face off against DePauw. CUW will battle Earlham on Saturday morning before taking on Centre in an SAA matchup Sunday afternoon.
