Neumann, Dunn, Fulton honored with SAA Field Hockey Awards

ATLANTA – Playing their first season in a conference, the Concordia University Wisconsin Field Hockey team performed well in the Southern Athletic Association. That was more evident Monday when the league announced its All-Conference awards, featuring three Falcons, including SAA Newcomer of the Year, Callie Neumann.

Neumann (Dousman, Wis.) was also chosen as an SAA First Team All-Conference selection as she had an outstanding fir year with the Falcons. Sam Dunn joined Neumann on the First Team, while Kelsey Fulton was a Second Team selection.

Neumann started all 14 games for the Falcons as a midfielder. The rookie scored two goals and added two assists, with both of her scores counting as game-winners.

Dunn (Sussex, Wis.) started 13 games for CUW and recorded nine points, with three goals and three assists. With Dunn a sophomore, and Neumann a freshman, the Falcons should have an outstanding midfield for the next couple of seasons.

Fulton (Sussex, Wis.) was the Falcons top forward, leading the team with 10 goals. She now has the two highest goal totals in program history, leading the team each of the past two seasons. Fulton added two assists for a team-best 22 points.

Hayley Barker of Centre was the SAA Offensive Player of the Year, while Daryl Perry of Rhodes was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year. Jenelle Anthony (Centre) rounded out the major awards, being selected by her peers as the SAA Coach of the Year.
