Field Hockey edges out Transylvania

Sewanee, Tenn. – Concordia Wisconsin's Women's Field Hockey team got back in the win column on Sunday as they defeated Transylvania 1-0. The Falcons used a first half goal from sophomore Sophia O'Connor (Manchester, Mich.) to pull out the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin was caught in a defensive struggle until, O'Connor found the first and only goal for the Falcons with 6:41 left in the first half. The goal was O'Connor's first of the season. The Falcons played outstading defense the rest of the way to keep Transylvania scoreless. 
- CUW outshot Transylvania 19-6 applying constant pressure throughout the day. The Falcons were able to put 10 of those shots on goal. Concordia Wisconsin produced 13 penalty corners, four coming in the first half and nine coming in the second half
- Sophomore Kennedy Boyer (Saline, Mich.) picked up the win today as she saved two shots and improved to 4-6 on the year.

- The Falcons will get matched up against Roanoke on Thursday, October 19th at 4:00 pm. The match will be held at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va.
