No. 4 Baseball takes down No. 5 Marian in first round of NACC Tournament

MEQUON, Wis. - The Falcons defeated the Sabres in a playoff game for the first time in program history as No. 4 Concordia Wisconsin earned the 3-1 win over No. 5 Marian on Thursday afternoon.

-Records: Falcons 18-19, Sabres 23-14

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In the first game against the Sabres, the Falcons strung together their five hits to score three runs while holding Marian to a single run.
-Alex Prickett (Franklin, Wis.) got the start and the win for the Falcons, allowing just one run while striking out three in six innings pitched.
-The Falcons struck first in the fourth inning as Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) stole home.
-CUW added to their lead in the fifth as Drew Barth (Pewaukee, Wis.) singled in a run on a hit to right field. Later in the fifth, Haakenson hit an RBI double down the right field line to drive in Barth.
-The Sabres got a run in the sixth as Matt Nordlund hit an RBI double, but that would be all that Marian would manage in the run column on the day.
-Beau Wills (Coal City, Ill.) earned his seventh save of the season in a three-inning outing, striking out one.

-The Falcons face No. 1 Concordia Chicago next in the NACC Tournament on Thursday, May 9, starting at 7pm.
