Baseball falls to St. Norbert

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons dropped their regular-season home finale to the Green Knights as Concordia Wisconsin fell 4-1 to St. Norbert on Wednesday night.

THE BASICS
-Final Score: SNC 4, CUW 1
-Records: SNC 16-16, CUW 15-18

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Green Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning. A pair of RBI singles and a sac fly put the Falcons down three early in the game.
-SNC added another run in the third inning on a fielder's choice that allowed a run to score.
-St. Norbert's starting pitcher Devon Silver took a shutout into the seventh inning.
-The Falcons broke the shutout in the seventh by utilizing patience and good eyes at the plate as they drew four walks to get a runner home. Austen Dart (Algoma, Wis.) drew the bases-loaded walk to put CUW on the board.
-Tristan Largent (Verona, Wis.) led the Falcons with two hits in three at-bats.
-CUW had seven pitchers get time on the mound in the game.
-Ben Kohl got the save for St. Norbert.

UP NEXT
-The Falcons face MSOE in a doubleheader on the road on Saturday, May 4, starting at 12pm. CUW needs just one win in that series to secure a spot in the NACC Tournament.
