Baseball drops non-conference game with Warhawks

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Falcons fell in the final game of the regular season to a non-conference opponent as Concordia Wisconsin was defeated 10-6 by UW-Whitewater on Sunday.

THE BASICS
-Final Score: Warhawks 10, Falcons 6
-Records: UWW 31-9, CUW 17-19

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons struck first in the top of the first with a pair of runs to go up 2-0. Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) scored on a wild pitch before Austen Dart (Algoma, Wis.) drove in a run with a single up the middle.
-The Warhawks answered with two of their own in the bottom of the first to even the score.
-CUW scored again in the third to go up 3-2, but then UWW put five on the board in the bottom of the inning to take a definitive 7-3 lead.
-Concordia Wisconsin scored again in the fifth on a throwing error and twice in the seventh, but the rally would fall short as the Warhawks pulled away with a 10-6 final score.
-Drew Barth (Pewaukee, Wis.) reached base four times for the Falcons in the leadoff spot with a hit and three walks.

UP NEXT
-The Falcons will play in the NACC Tournament as the No. 4 seed starting with a game against Marian on Thursday, May 9, at 1pm.
