Baseball sweeps UW-Superior

TUSCON, Ariz. – The Falcons have won three in a row after sweeping the Yellowjackets as Concordia Wisconsin defeated UW-Superior 8-6 and 6-2 in a doubleheader on Wednesday. 

THE BASICS
-Final Score: Concordia Wisconsin 8, UW-Superior 6 | Concordia Wisconsin 6, UW-Superior 2
-Records: Concordia Wisconsin 3-5, UW-Superior 2-5

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In the opener, the Falcons strung together a four-run second inning en rout to a 9-6 victory.
-Joseph Zywiciel (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Tyler Haffey (Cudahy, Wis.) each led the Falcons with two RBI in the win.
-Charlie Rodriguez (Tinley Park, Ill.) had two doubles and a run scored.
-Ryan Green (Green Bay, Wis.) earned the win and Lukas Meerdink (Oostburg, Wis.) got the save while striking out six in three innings.
-The Yellowjackets jumped out to a two-run lead to open the following game, but would manage no more as the Falcons defeated them 6-2.
-The Falcons hit five doubles in the game, with Alex Unekis (Antioch, Ill.) hitting two of them.
-Rodriguez had an RBI triple to put the Falcons the board in the first.
-Bradlee Sumner (Ocala, Fla.) got the win for the Falcons, striking out three and allowing only two hits in five innings of work.
