Baseball opener at Chapman halted by rain
ORANGE, Calif. – The 2018 opener for the Concordia University Wisconsin Baseball team at Chapman was halted by rain in the bottom of the third inning Friday night. The Falcons and Panthers will resume the contest tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. (Pacific).
Friday's game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the third when Mother Nature stepped in. The host Panthers had runners on first and second with two outs in the inning. CUW scored its two runs in the top of the third on a two-RBI double by Dan Ranieri (Loves Park, Ill.).
The Falcons and Panthers will resume the game at 3 p.m. Pacific (1 p.m. central) Saturday. CUW and Chapman will finish the contest and then play an originally scheduled game at 6 p.m. Pacific.
