Schubert tabbed NACC Baseball Position Player of the Week

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Junior shortstop Matt Schubert was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Baseball Position Player of the Week for the events of April 25-May 1, the league office announced Monday.

Schubert (West Bend, Wis.) responded to a lineup change for the Falcons by hitting .500 over four NACC games during a 3-1 weekend. On Saturday the junior shortstop was 6-for-8 with three doubles, four RBI and a run scored in a sweep of Marian. He added a hit in each game of a split with MSOE Sunday, including driving in a run in a 4-0 win.

Schubert and the Falcons will return to action Wednesday with a home doubleheader against No. 11 UW-Whitewater. First pitch of the non-conference twinbill is set for 3 p.m.
